How to connect to Active Directory

CYBERQUEST can be integrated with Active Directory or LDAP systems, allowing users to authenticate to CYBERQUEST using their Active Directory credentials. To do this, please follow these steps:

Active Directory side

Create the AD group for the CYBERQUEST users (e.g. CQUsers). Add to the AD group the users that will use CYBERQUEST.

CYBERQUEST side

Authentication

To access Web Interface, open a web browser and type the application's address or DNS name. The default address initially assigned to Web Interface is https://CyberquestIPAddress (example).

The browser automatically redirects you to CYBERQUEST's authentication page:

Navigate to "Settings > Application Settings > Active Directory".

Complete the form

Complete the fields with the appropriate information by pressing "Edit" button. The fields are aplhabetically ordered:

Active Directory Basedn: Location of the user used to connect to Active Directory. Example: "CN=Users,DC=domain,DC=com".

Active Directory Group: The Active Directory group intended for synchronizing users with CYBERQUEST.

Active Directory Password: Account password for the mentioned username.

Active Directory Port: The port for connecting with Active Directory LDAP service. Default port is 389.

Active Directory Server: The network IP address of Active Directory domain controller to query.

Active Directory Suffix: FQDN of the Active Directory domain.

Active Directory User: The administrative user used to connect to Active Directory. Example: "domain_name\Administrator". The default user under which CYBERQUEST performs event collection from Active Directory infrastructure can be used in this scope.

For each setting, press "Save" button to save changes and close the window or press "Close" button to close the window without saving changes.

After authentication in CYBERQUEST, the users must be assigned to the apropriate user groups by a CYBERQUEST administrator.
